About Volunteer Dog Training

Volunteer Dog Training is East Tennessee’s affordable dog training service, owned and operated by certified professional dog trainer Julie Caldwell. 

Volunteer Dog Training started as a dream in December of 2010. I wanted to get away from one size fits all group dog training classes and focus on the dog and their human’s relationship. I believed then, and still do today that using positive teaching methods is the best way to develop lasting behavior change. My business plan was simple: teach people to teach their dogs at a reasonable price and always be there for them.

Over the years I have played with the idea of opening up a location to have classes or partnering with a pet store to have classes. After a few minutes I remember why I started off on my own in the 1st place: to focus on the individual person and dog. It is in the one on one environment that I can do the most good. 

So, Volunteer Dog Training will continue to be a one woman operation that treats all with love, peace, and respect. Helping one family (human and dog) at a time.
